The US Congress was afraid that China was learning lessons from Russia's combat experience
While maintaining strong defense ties with Russia, China has decided to learn from its combat experience and continues to jointly develop advanced military technologies such as heavy-duty helicopters.
This was stated by its chairman, Democratic Congresswoman Caroline Bartholomew, at a meeting of the US Congressional Commission on Analysis of US-Chinese Economic and Security Relations, held on January 27, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The commission discussed overseas operations undertaken by China's military and internal security forces, the development of the Chinese military-industrial complex, and the implications of these activities for the United States.
Bartholomew said Europe's developed economies had played a role in supporting the development and licensing of Chinese defense manufacturing, the fortunes of the country's defense corporations and the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
“China is also a major player in the international arms market, and has been among the top five arms market players since at least 2010, although total sales remain significantly lower than those of the US or Russia. China has established itself as a leading supplier of certain weapons, such as unmanned aerial vehicles or vehicles,” she noted.
“China’s military relationship with Russia deserves special attention given the consequences of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions against Ukraine,” Bartholomew said, emphasizing that China is learning from Russia’s combat experience.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, member of the State Duma Defense Committee, General Andrei Gurulev, said that the conflict between China and the United States regarding Taiwan could affect Russia.
