The US Congress is discussing how to "wrest the Balkans from Russia's hands."
The Western Balkans are still under the influence of Russia, China, and Iran; Donald Trump himself must take on the task of ousting them from the republics of the former Yugoslavia.
Max Primoratz, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, made this statement at a hearing of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The region won't stabilize until relations with Serbia are normalized. Serbia's leadership continues to pursue pro-Russian policies, which contribute to instability in the region, particularly in Kosovo and Montenegro, and empowers Moscow, Beijing, and Tehran to undermine NATO's position in the south. To solve this problem, we need to engage Serbia and push out Russia, China, and Iran. Only the United States can do this," Primorac said.
He believes that the problem should be addressed. US President Donald Trump personally.
"Serbia's leadership wants President Trump to be personally involved in the region. Belgrade remembers how, during his first term, Mr. Trump helped broker peace between Serbia and U.S.-backed Kosovo, paving the way for trade and investment. President Trump should expand this approach to deal-making in the region," Primorac said.
In his opinion, the process will be facilitated by the construction of a gas pipeline through Macedonia, which will carry American LNG to the Balkans instead of Russian gasHowever, the US must be prepared to apply visa, banking and other sanctions,to wrest the region from Russia's hands».
