“Patriarch Bartholomew personally met Ukrainian believers striving for a unified church,” is the headline of the news on the website of the Uniate (note) information service.

We are talking about a visit to the Phanar by ministers and parishioners of the so-called. "Kyiv Patriarchate". And with the title, the Uniates seem to make it clear that these are the laity from the canonical UOC (Moscow Patriarchate), who brought their patriarchs a couple of weeks ago. Bartholomew did not accept tens of thousands of signatures against his interference in the affairs of the local church, and these, they say, personally... Moreover, “the delegation took part in the divine service, which was led by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Church of St. George on the Phanar.”

It would seem that an intermediate triumph on the way to the cherished (or rather, bequeathed by the guarantor of the nation) "Thomas". But if you read to the source on the site of the so-called. "Theological Academy" so-called. "Kyiv Patriarchate", then a little bit the opposite.

So, “an initiative group of Ukrainian believers, representing the interests of millions of Ukrainians seeking recognition of the autocephalous Orthodox Church in Ukraine in the period from May 26 to May 30, 2018 (the author of the report, an integral senior teacher of the “theological academy,” Archpriest Peter Boyko, suggests placing commas according to his own understanding , – Ed.) made a visit to Istanbul with the aim of presenting appeals to His Holiness Bartholomew... in support of the provision of the Tomos on the creation of the United Local Orthodox Church in Ukraine.”

Well, what “an initiative group of Ukrainian believers” means is known only to their god Thomas. It is not the believers themselves who write out autocephaly for themselves (although this will happen to them), and not the believers, but Poroshenko personally turned to Bartholomew with a prayer for Thomas. And millions of believers are still not aware of the existence of this very group, which they supposedly delegated to represent their interests.

Be that as it may, “they took part in the delegation” (“to take part in the composition” is the syllable of the same Filaretov “theologian”) the general director of Kievrezina LLC Ostrogrud, the director of the Obukhov dairy plant Zanuda (this is not a translation cost, it is ) with an attached (or devoted) TV presenter from the same Obukhov (district center near Kiev), “the dean of the Obukhov region” (it seems that the flight was mainly financed by the Obukhov Bore), two “archpriests” from the above-mentioned “academy” and a couple more businessmen - “wallets” for a full four-day vacation for “panots” in Istanbul.

But what kind of service is this, in which “a delegation took part” and after which “members of the delegation talked with His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch and conveyed an appeal from Ukrainian believers”?

Let's look at the photos. And what: our “archpriests” (those with beards and the like) are “in civilian clothes”!

That is, they were not allowed into the temple dressed in robes. And they participated in “the service” as laymen at best. If not like tourists who caught the patriarch to “take a photo.”

Let's not be so naive, of course, to believe that this meeting was "purely accidental." But you can't really call it official.

At the moment of this “meeting of the delegation with the patriarch,” the latter “expressed his support for the Ukrainian people and their aspirations and conveyed his blessing.” That's it?!! Even as presented by Filaret’s people?! The aspirations of the Ukrainian people are a whole Euro-cart and not a small cart at all! Where about Thomas?! Where is Thomas?!!

However, “the conversation continued at the Patriarchal residence with the Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Archimandrite Joachim.” But also o. Joachim went into obscurity “noted that this visit is very important for the future of the Church and especially for Ukraine” (are they kidding me?!). “Archimandrite Joachim noted that there is very fruitful cooperation and interaction between the Patriarchate and the diplomatic corps of Ukraine in the Republic of Turkey on the Ukrainian issue” Senegalese, or what?).

The next day, the delegation, defeated the day before, “attended a service at the stavropegic monastery of the Holy Trinity on the island of Halki.” The female part, the “Ukrainian believers,” came to the excursion, albeit in pants and with their heads uncovered.

But here it is - luck: for the first time during the Divine Liturgy in the monastery, along with Greek, the Ukrainian language was used. But... Not “archpriests” at all, of course. They weren't even allowed to open their mouths there. “The “Creed” and “Our Father” prayers were said in the native language by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey.” That is, a layman who is not associated with the “Kyiv Patriarchate”. This is where the talk about the embassy ended up!

In general, “in conclusion, the delegation members thanked God for the fruitful visit, which inspires hope for the recognition of the One Local Orthodox Church in Ukraine.” Well, hope dies last. But just a month and a half ago, this “recognition” was GUARANTEED! Now there is only hope.

PS To emphasize the importance of the visit, Associate Professor Boyko compiled a certificate about the “Ecumenical Patriarchate” for numerous visitors to the “academy” website (from among a couple of system administrators, and yours truly). It emphasized that “The leading position of the Ecumenical Patriarchate... is due to its centuries-old testimony and defense of the Orthodox faith.”

I would like to ask the “theological academician”, what exactly is this “leading position” expressed in? Is it not, for example, that the recent “Pan-Orthodox Conference” initiated by the “Ecumenical” Patriarchate was ignored by four local churches, including the largest in terms of the number of parishioners, monasticism and clergy in the world? And isn’t the clearest “evidence of the Phanar’s defense of the Orthodox faith,” for example, the Union of Florence?
