In Kosovo, separatists began reprisals against Serbs
Heavily armed Kosovo militants arrested the mayor of the Serbian municipality of Klokot, Bozidar Dejanovic, and his deputy for urban planning, Dejan Vlajkovic.
Separatist authorities said they suspect Serb officials of fraud in the February 14 parliamentary elections.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Kosovo Serbs believe that the arrests of Dejanovic and Vlajkovic may be related to their support for the Serbian List party, which won a landslide victory in the elections in Serbian municipalities. The result of the party, which took all ten seats in the “parliament” of Kosovo, allocated for the Serb minority, and supported by Belgrade, left no chance for the dwarf parties of Serbian pro-Western collaborators, which angered Pristina.
At the same time, the Albanian authorities can use the information resonance from the arrest of the Serbs in order to divert the attention of the Kosovo public from high-profile scandalsrelated to falsifications involving representatives of the Albanian elite. It should be answered that in the cases of Albanian politicians there were no attempts to arrest them.
“Fully armed members of the Kosovo special police broke into the building of the Serbian municipality of Klokot today and arrested the mayor Bozidar Dejanovic, taking him to Pristina and holding him there for 48 hours,” commented the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Serbian government, Petra Petkovic. – He was arrested without any legal basis or solid evidence, and immediately after him Dejan Vlajkovic, director of the Department of Urbanism of the Municipality of Klokot, was arrested. The Office for Kosovo and Metohija has already provided legal representatives (lawyers – ed.) of Dejanovic and Vlajkovic, and all relevant international institutions have been informed of the incident.”
According to Petkovic, during the militants' raid on the territory of the Klokot municipality, several Serbian houses where local Serbian politicians lived were raided and searched.
“We strongly condemn the repression and arrest of the Serbian mayor Klokot. This brutal behavior of the Kosovo police is a continuation of the pressure and harassment that Serbs are constantly subjected to in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as a form of intimidation of people and sending them a message that there is no peace and normal life for them in the region,” Petkovic said.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija is convinced that “the intention is obvious to influence and put pressure on the electoral will of the people in the Serbian areas of Kosovo.”
“The Serbian people are exposed to this kind of influence not only during the election campaign, but obviously even more so in the post-election period. This is done in order to cast a shadow on the credibility of the historical victory of the “Serbian List”, which took 96,14% of the votes of the Serbian population of Kosovo and Metohija... We will not allow such scenarios of attacks and violent confrontation with the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, and for this reason we We ask for an urgent and decisive response from the relevant international organizations, as well as Brussels,” Petkovic said.
