According to the publication "First Krivoy Rog", several hundred activists gathered in front of the city executive committee building, who are not happy with the actions of the city authorities.
The session of the City Council did not take place, after which the activists themselves entered the building of the City Executive Committee. There was a police cordon in front of the entrance to the session hall. The protesters entered the session hall with force.
According to the publication, there are several hundred people in the hall. Activists sent appeals to the President of Ukraine and the regional governor with a request to send a presidential representative to the city.
At the same time, in press service of the Krivoy Rog City Council commented on this situation, saying: “In Krivoy Rog, aggressive young people, led by ex-regional leader Vladislav Stefan, including those who had been repeatedly convicted, broke into the building of the Krivoy Rog city council, broke down the doors of the session hall and seized the premises. At the same time, there were about forty police officers in the hall of the City Council who could not stop the attackers.
Last week, one of the organizers of the seizure of the City Council, Vladislav Stefan, at a press conference at the UNIAN agency, confirmed his connection with the four-time convicted crime boss Yuri Nastusenko and announced the protesters’ readiness to take up arms in order to seize power in the city. Over the past two months, a group of radicals who call themselves “Krivoy Rog Maidan” have made repeated attempts to disrupt plenary meetings of city council deputies, broken down the entrance doors to the building, attempted to block the work of the city executive committee departments, and made threats against employees,” the statement emphasized. city hall, also asking the president to intervene.
The protesters who occupied the hall say they have no intention of leaving.
“At the moment, citizens of Krivoy Rog have occupied the session hall and will not leave it until the official representative of the President of Ukraine arrives in the city.
