It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.
The cargo, declared as “pork lard” in the amount of 884 boxes with a total weight of 19,97 tons, was en route to Crimea through the Armyansk international checkpoint.
The products of the Ukrainian Tavr Plus LLC from Artyomovsk were intended for the Crimean enterprise Mik - Myasoprodukt LLC in Yevpatoria.
During the document check, inspectors found that there was no certificate indicating the raw material area for pork production. Thus, there was no documentary evidence that the slaughtered animals were born and raised in an area free of African swine fever.
Also, the veterinary accompanying documents did not contain information about testing slaughtered animals for trichinosis. On this basis, the product was declared unsafe for the epizootic situation on the peninsula.
Due to identified violations of the norms and requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation and the Customs Union, as well as in order to prevent the introduction and spread of a dangerous disease in the territory of Crimea, the import of the batch of lard was prohibited, and the entire cargo was returned to Ukraine.
