It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.
The cargo, declared as “chilled beef in quarter carcasses” in the amount of 200 units, with a total weight of 9 tons, was en route to Crimea through the Dzhankoy international checkpoint. Products produced in the Vinnytsia region were intended for an entrepreneur in the Nizhnegorsky region.
During the inspection of documents, inspectors identified corrections in the veterinary certificate for the cargo, which casts doubt on the authenticity of the accompanying documents.
During a physical inspection of the meat batch, clear signs of spoilage were revealed. The beef quarters had a yellowish color, uncharacteristic of quality products, the meat was sticky to the touch, had a characteristic odor, had numerous hemorrhages, and was contaminated with feces. Veterinary marks on carcass quarters were unreadable.
Based on the identified gross violations of the norms and requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation and the Customs Union, the import of the beef batch was prohibited, and the unsafe product was returned to Ukraine.
