A cargo of contaminated Chinese cabbage was not allowed into Crimea
Simferopol, March 03 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) - Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors did not allow a cargo of Chinese cabbage infected with a dangerous quarantine pest - Western (California) flower thrips - to enter Crimea.

It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.
According to her, the cargo, declared as “fresh Beijing cabbage from the 2014 harvest” in the amount of 2,5 tons, was en route to Crimea through the Armyansk checkpoint. According to the documents presented, Chinese cabbage was grown in the Rodnichok farm in the Kherson region and was intended for sale on the peninsula by ELIYAGU Agro LLC.
During a physical inspection of the cargo, live adults of the pest were found in the products, after which cabbage samples were sent for appropriate research. The results of the examination, received on March 2, were positive: Chinese cabbage was infected with a dangerous quarantine pest that poses a threat to fields and vegetable gardens.
In order to prevent the penetration and spread of Californian thrips in the Russian Federation, the cargo of Chinese cabbage was returned to Ukraine.
