The head of the Italian delegation, President of the Veneto Regional Council Roberto Ciambetti noted that many Italian parliamentarians and businessmen want to abandon sanctions and are interested in cooperation with Crimea: “We oppose anti-Russian sanctions, they primarily affect those who are weaker and poorer . Sanctions lead nowhere. We came to build a bridge between Italy and Russia, because these ties are deeper than one might imagine. There is more between our peoples that unites us than divides us.”
After a meeting with deputies of the Crimean parliament, representatives of the Italian delegation signed a statement on the development of interregional cooperation between Crimea and Venetto and the creation of conditions for the development of business projects.
