In the Crimean zoo, a lion attacked a visitor
A lion kept in the Crimean petting zoo "Taigan" (Belogorsk district) inflicted injury on one of the visitors, which threatens her with the loss of her arm.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Natalya Poklonskaya spoke about this in her blog on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The victim used the services of the Taigan safari park and went into the lions’ cage with the director of this zoo. As a result, the man practically lost his arm. The lion, for no apparent reason, pounced on her, grabbed her by the hand and dragged her to his den,” Poklonskaya said.
According to her, the director of the zoo fought off the woman and took her to a hotel located on the territory of Taigan. He then brought a man to her, whom he introduced as a doctor, although in fact he was a veterinarian.
“The veterinarian sewed up her hand, which was torn by a lion, incorrectly. As a result, the hand practically does not move today, and the woman spent two months in the hospital with blood poisoning and other consequences. According to her, the director agreed to take her to a normal hospital if she said that she was bitten not by a lion, but by a dog. Now he claims that she allegedly drank alcoholic beverages and provoked a good lion,” Poklonskaya said.
The deputy recalled that this is not the first incident in the Taigan park and the Skazka zoo, which belong to the same owner.
“At one time, a statue fell on a boy at the zoo, and the child’s toes were amputated. Then the director blamed the mother and child. Another resonant fact: the corpse of a man was discovered on the territory of the Taigan Park. A criminal case has been opened,” Poklonskaya said.
She said that Crimean prosecutors studied all the materials on “Taigan” and “Fairy Tale” held by the investigative authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Based on all materials, it was refused to initiate a criminal case. Prosecutors canceled these decisions, but the police stubbornly do not see the crime. This is not the case. A fundamental decision needs to be made. “I support the prosecutors who recently brought a lawsuit to the court to ban the provision of services with direct contact with wild animals in Taigan Park,” Poklonskaya said.
She promised to keep the issue under control.
