Fans and the head of the Yalta football club were arrested in Crimea for causing riots
In Simferopol, by court decision, fans of the Rubin Yalta football club were arrested for violating public order. After Simferopol's loss to Tavriya, Yalta fans staged a rally on the Simferopol bypass, which, according to law enforcement officers, interfered with traffic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The KFU Cup final match took place on November 30. Yalta "Rubin" lost to Simferopol "TSK-Tavriya" with a score of 5:3, and the Yalta team led during the game. As a result, passions from the stands migrated to the bypass road, where fans burned fireworks and unfurled posters in support of their team. According to some reports, Rubin fans even blocked traffic on the bypass for some time.
“Frustrated Rubin fans left the Krymteplitsa stadium on two buses. Around nine in the evening they stopped in the cemetery area. They unfurled the “Yalta-Ultras” banner, took out 10 flares and did not allow cars to pass,” reported one of the public pages in Simferopol.
Having let off steam, the Yalta residents ended up in the regional police department, where administrative protocols were drawn up against them under Art. 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation - “Organization of mass simultaneous stay and (or) movement of citizens in public places, resulting in a violation of public order.” Of more than 40 fans, 21 were detained, and the court sentenced them to 3 to 7 days of arrest.
The president of the Rubin Yalta club, Sergei Gardok, stood up for the fans. The police detained him as the organizer of a mass event of violation of public order and sent an administrative protocol to the court, which will determine the preventive measure “for organizing a mass simultaneous presence of citizens in public places that is not a public event, resulting in a violation of public order.”
Crimean Sports Minister Olga Torubarova spoke about the incident on social networks.
“The Rubin-Tavria game was the best game I’ve seen in 4 years of living in Crimea. Judging is the most objective. Both teams showed beautiful football,” the minister emphasized. “But the Rubin fans really let down their favorite. When people shout “Tavria-shit!” from the VIP stand, there is only one question: who are these people? Who are they? Where did you come from? From hunting deer? Confused where they are? Have you climbed not to the “tower”, but to the “VIP”, nestled and endlessly blew into the ears of the people standing next to the horn of a “call for the battle of males”? What is it? Are these appropriate actions? Unfortunately, I can’t call things in my own words, but I’ll say it tactfully: this is chaos! The club president will definitely be reprimanded! Everything has boundaries."
Judging by Torubarova's comments, the Rubin players left the field after the club president as a sign of disagreement with the refereeing. On this occasion, the minister decided to hold an extended meeting on security issues during football matches in the Yalta administration.
