In Crimea, a deputy was arrested on charges of fraud with land on the coast of the Azov Sea
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the head of the municipality of the Voikovsky rural settlement of the Leninsky district of the Republic of Crimea. He is accused of looting 13 hectares of land on the coast.

“According to the investigation, from March 18, 2014 to March 27, 2015, the suspect, wanting material enrichment through the illegal acquisition of land plots by his relatives, and also wanting to provide a service to his friends, using his official powers, prepared a forged document, on the basis of which more 100 individuals were illegally allocated land plots, while more than 13 hectares of land located in the village of Kurortny, Leninsky district of the Republic of Crimea were withdrawn from municipal circulation,” the report says.
The suspect is currently detained.
The small village of Kurortnoye is located on the Kerch Peninsula, 17 km away. from Kerch, on the very coast of the Azov Sea (Marine Corps Bay). A 15-minute walk from the village is the Chokrak lake, known for its healing properties.
Resort has excellent sandy beaches, their total length is about 4 km. To the west, dozens more small sandy bays continue, which are called “general’s beaches”. During Soviet times, these bays of the Azov coast of Crimea were under the jurisdiction of the military and were closed to visitors.
