This was reported by the press service of the supervisory agency.

According to the position of the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the court of appeal replaced the sentence of 15 years of imprisonment with life imprisonment for the organizer of the crimes. For four more convicts, their sentences were increased to 15 years.

“It has been confirmed that a resident of Yalta created an organized criminal group, whose members and accomplices took possession of two households in Yalta and Alupka. Thus, the owner of a home in Yalta was kidnapped, taken to another city, where he was detained and subjected to physical and psychological violence in order to force him to issue a power of attorney to carry out transactions on his own behalf. Having taken possession of the victim’s documents, the attackers stole his property, causing damage in the amount of 2,6 million rubles. The owners of a house in Alupka, a mother and daughter, were killed, and their documents were stolen to formalize transactions with property, the value of which was estimated at 5,8 million rubles.

At the same time, the appellate court considered the arguments of the prosecutor’s office about the inconsistency – due to the leniency – of the punishment imposed by the Yalta City Court for the mentioned crimes to be justified,” the statement says.

The complaints of those convicted by the court were left unsatisfied.

On September 30, by decision of the Yalta City Court, 11 members of a gang of brokers were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 5 to 15 years.
