By the end of April, about a thousand hospital beds will be ready to be deployed in Crimea to treat those infected with COVID-19.

Vice Prime Minister of the Republic Elena Romanovskaya stated this at a meeting of the headquarters to combat the spread of the new strain of coronavirus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, additional places will be deployed if necessary in all regions of the peninsula.

“By order of the Ministry of Health, 478 beds have been reserved for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. This is 50% of the beds that need to be deployed by April 28. Within two days, upon request, if such a situation becomes necessary, they can deploy with all the requirements that are necessary by order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

These are the Evpatoria, Feodosia hospitals, the 7th city hospital, the children's infectious diseases hospital and the Yalta FMBA hospital. To date, patients with COVID are accommodated only in Evpatoria, Feodosia, Yalta, in the 7th city hospital and one each in Kerch and the Krasnogvardeysky district. Additional beds will be ready, reserve beds are being deployed in the Dzhankoy hospital, the Armenian hospital, taking into account the fact that there is already experience there and there is the possibility of deployment, and maternity hospital No. 2, located on the territory of the 7th city hospital,” Romanovskaya said.

To date, 34 cases of COVID-19 infection have been officially confirmed in Crimea. Of these, 14 people have already fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals. Eight cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in Sevastopol, four patients have already been discharged from hospitals.
