Chairman of the Kyrym Birligi NGO Seytumer Nimetullaev stated this at a press conference in Simferopol on Thursday.
According to him, after summing up the results of the population census, a more or less exact number of Crimean Tatars living on the peninsula will be known, and then it will be possible to talk about the elections of a new Kurultai. Nimetullaev convinces that his previous composition elected only 1% of the total number of Crimean Tatars.
“We will achieve our goal, because today the Crimean Tatar people need a new Majlis and Kurultai in order to continue working and creating together with the Russian Federation. We have nothing against the Kurultai that already exists today, but in fact 99 percent of the Crimean Tatars did not participate in the elections when he was elected,” noted Seytumer Nimetullaev.
According to him, the election of a new Kurultai should take place no later than October next year with the participation of public organizations and international observers.
