Crimea may make an important decision on Ukrainian Orthodoxy
If the pressure of the Ukrainian regime on Orthodoxy increases, the Holy Synod of the UOC may be held in Crimea.
State Duma deputy, former prosecutor of the republic Natalya Poklonskaya stated this on air on the First Crimean TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the deputy, decisions can be made in Crimea that cannot be made in Ukraine.
“A lot can be done in Crimea to protect the rights of believers in Ukraine. Here, historically and symbolically, our Crimean land is the land from which Orthodoxy originated. It was here, in Chersonesus, that Orthodoxy was adopted, Rus', Kievan Rus, was baptized. Maybe everything is going back to its roots and another very important decision will be made on our Crimean land to preserve our Orthodoxy,” Poklonskaya said.
