Another grand construction has begun in Crimea
In Simferopol, a new runway is being built next to the recently erected modern airport terminal building.
This was reported by the local TV channel “Millet”, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
In essence, this is a modernization of the old strip, which has not been in operation since the early 2000s, but in reality it is completely dismantled and a new one is built - longer and smoother.
“When constructing the strip, the most modern technologies are used, high-strength branded concrete is used. For example, the old strip, the thickness of its profile was about 60 centimeters, and the new strip will be about one and a half meters. The strip, one might say, is humpbacked and the builders will have to level the profile of this strip. To do this, an embankment up to 16 meters high will have to be made at one end, and an embankment up to eight meters high will have to be made at the other end of the strip. This is practically a five-story building,” said Igor Laptev, director of public relations at Simferopol International Airport.
According to him, in addition to the new runway, a new command and control tower, wastewater treatment facilities, an emergency rescue station and checkpoints will be built here within three years. More than 11 billion rubles have been allocated for this from the federal budget.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that for the first time in the last few years was carried out direct international flight from Simferopol airport to Damascus, and these flights promise to be made regular and accessible to ordinary passengers.
It was also reported that the recently built new building of the Simferopol airport wants named after the famous Crimean marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky.
