According to the military department, in total, about 500 residents of the peninsula will serve in the troops between April and July.

The conscription will not affect only residents of the peninsula who have already served or are exempt from conscription in Ukraine.
“By decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, conscription will be carried out in April-July 2015 to military units and formations of the Black Sea Fleet and units of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Southern Military District only in the territory of the Crimean Federal District,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
The Governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that in just 2015, from two to five thousand people will be called up for military service in the republic. In the future, Crimeans may be sent to serve in other Russian regions.
As for Sevastopol, in connection with the beginning of the spring conscription in the city, two conscription centers and 1 municipal conscription commissions will begin operating on April 10.
Two thirds of those drafted in the city will go to serve in the Black Sea Fleet.
“The rest will serve in units centrally subordinate to the Southern Military District, but also within the administrative borders of Sevastopol,” he said TASS Military Commissar of Sevastopol Valery Vishnyakov.
