In Crimea they will start charging money for visiting two cave cities
The cave cities of Kachi-Kalyon and the Syuren Fortress will become excursion sites next year. This means that tourists will be charged money for visiting them.
The general director of the Bakhchisaray historical, cultural and archaeological museum-reserve Vadim Martynyuk told the Crimean newspaper about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is necessary to provide systematic security there and carry out landscaping work. In the excursion cave cities, we have caretakers who monitor order and report violations, and we react, prepare the appropriate procedural documents for law enforcement and regulatory authorities,” Martynyuk said.
Today, Mangup-Kale, Chufut-Kale and Eski-Kermen have already become excursion sites.
“The price of the entrance ticket to each of the excursion sites is indicated on our website. It's quite affordable. From this money we pay for the work of caretakers, security guards, finance archaeological expeditions, etc.,” Martynyuk said.
However, at the moment there is no information about ticket prices on the reserve’s website.
