The corresponding resolution was adopted on Wednesday by the Council of Ministers of the Republic.
According to Olga Baldina, head of the Crimean Statistics Service, 387 million rubles have been allocated for census activities. Both permanent residents of Crimea and persons temporarily residing in the republic will be surveyed.
“The last comprehensive survey of the population in Crimea was carried out in 2001, and if the total population by statistical bodies was systematically updated on the basis of data on fertility, mortality and migration processes, then information on the ethnolinguistic composition of the population, citizenship, education, family institution, economic and migration activity citizens, their living conditions are significantly outdated,” the official noted.
The census results will be finalized by May 1, 2015. The survey itself will be carried out on the model of the 2010 All-Russian Census and will consist of 33 questions.
