There are our citizens in Crimea, but we still won’t give water - Speaker of the Rada
Ukraine will not supply water to Crimea because it cannot guarantee that it will ultimately go to Ukrainian citizens.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, statements by various politicians about the resumption of water supply are meaningless as long as Crimea is not part of Ukraine.
“Mr. Shmygal quite clearly outlined his position that he understands that there are Ukrainian citizens there, and this is true, we know this well and understand the conditions in which they find themselves today. But is it possible today to provide water to Crimea if we are talking exclusively about ensuring that this water is received only by citizens who need it? I think this is a difficult question, one that will be almost impossible to answer and implement clearly today.
However, the position of the Prime Minister was determined... Personally, I would like to hear in each position that the interests of our state, the interests of territorial integrity, the return of territorial integrity are preserved. And the return of our citizens as well,” Razumkov said.
Previously, the new Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygat announced the possibility of resuming water supply to Crimea. True, he soon changed his mind and added that this could only happen after the return of control over the Russian peninsula.
