“Stavkri-Kaya is again without a cross because of some vandals! 22.11.2018/XNUMX/XNUMX Fresh cut!” wrote a member of the group and attached photos.

Stavri-Kaya or “cross mountain” is a landmark of Yalta. A popular tourist route leads to the top.

According to local legend, the first stone cross on the rock was erected by the aging hero Taurus at the request of his dying mother. After this, his strength returned. Since then, people have constantly restored the cross on the rock if it was destroyed by time and natural disasters.

This is what the cross looked like a week ago.

As PolitNavigator previously reported, recently the storm destroyed the cross on St. George's Rock near Cape Fiolent in Sevastopol. The monks of the local monastery are going to restore it.
