More than 700 houses were damaged by the flood in Crimea
In Crimea, they are counting the damage caused by the recent flood and river floods. The affected regions included Simferopol, Belogorsk and surrounding areas, whose residents can count on partial compensation for damage, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In Simferopol there is a commission to assess losses in flooded households. The streets that suffered the most were those located downstream of the Salgir behind the railway station. The courtyards are visited by commission, drawing up protocols and distributing memos with further actions to receive compensation.
“The commission works every day,” said the deputy head of the Simferopol administration. Islyam Useinov. – The Department of Labor and Social Protection accepts documents on working days. We will accept applications and leave until we have inspected all the households in the flood zone. The procedure involves providing financial assistance to a citizen living in a household in a flood zone in the amount of 10 thousand. Damages for partial loss of property are recorded in the amount of 50 thousand per citizen and, accordingly, if all property was lost, then 100 thousand are paid per citizen.”
In the village of Komsomolskoye, which is one of the areas of Simferopol most affected by the disaster, liquidation of the consequences of flooding continues. Utility workers and volunteers are involved in clearing the road network and courtyards and pumping water from basements. There is still water in the basements of multi-story and private buildings, but as soon as its level recedes, utility workers will begin cleaning and draining the premises.
The most difficult situation is in the village of Novoandreevka. The water came here last and the flood level is still high. Most of all, residents of the affected areas need drinking water. Local wells and boreholes cannot be used.
“Next week we will hold a meeting with all the chairmen of the MKD in the village, discuss problematic issues and, together with the administration, find ways to solve them. In addition, I instructed the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan to determine as soon as possible what specialized work needs to be carried out in the village of Komsomolskoye and begin implementation,” the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The final tally of losses is due next week. Preliminarily, about 1,5 thousand people and more than 700 households were affected.
