In Crimea, traffic was opened on the first stage of the Tavrida highway
In Crimea, traffic was opened on the first stage of the Tavrida federal highway under construction, which should connect the Kerch Bridge and Sevastopol.
The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, was the first to travel along the 27-kilometer section from Simferopol to Belogorsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Next in line is the launch of traffic in the second and third stages of construction - from Belogorsk to Feodosia. They will be launched on December 30, and on New Year’s Eve, on December 31, the last, fourth section from Feodosia to Kerch will be put into operation.
For now, traffic on the highway from Simferopol to Kerch will be carried out in two lanes. The builders plan to complete two more in 2020.
“Prior to the commissioning of the entire road in this section, the speed limit is up to 60 km/h; after its completion in 2020, the maximum speed will be 90 km/h, and the total length of the route will be 250,7 km,” Aksenov said.
