Stations for the Russian maritime Tesla are opening in Crimea
The first charging stations for ships powered by electric motors appeared in Crimea. Russian businessman Alexander Lebedev stated this at the Open Crimea tourism forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lebedev, “chargers” are already located on the embankment in Alushta (where the businessman has the More hotel complex) and will soon open in the famous Mriya hotel, owned by Sber. In addition, Lebedev is building charging stations for electric vehicles.
“Here we will definitely need a lot of support from the state, including chargers, parking lots, parking spaces, and the construction of inexpensive marinas. Anyone can build expensive marinas; in fact, this is not necessary. And, here, a small marina that would accommodate 2-3 electric ships, along with a pier. It is necessary that hotels strive to ensure that their clients use not diesel, old “Rydvans” on the water, but electric ships,” the businessman said.
Lebedev admitted that so far the charging stations are being built on his initiative and for his money, since the businessman hopes to establish the production of electric ships.
“It seems that we agreed that we will install the first electric gas station on the territory of Mriya at our own expense. Although these negotiations took us eight months. Normal story? And we have already installed eight gas stations on our embankment in Alushta. We are ready to even invest our own money in this, fully understanding what risks await us,” Lebedev said.
“I would like to make Crimea “green”, to contribute to this, I already consider Crimea there as a territory where I myself like to relax, so I would like electric cars to drive along the Alushta embankment, not gasoline ones, because this is outrageous...
I have an integrated approach, but let’s be honest - I am one of the investors in Russia’s first electric ship. In general, less than a dozen electric ships have been made in the world. One in China, one in Norway, one in Stockholm, five in Copenhagen. Therefore, I would like to promote electric transport on water; we made the Russian Tesla. Therefore, I also have a commercial interest. But, first of all, I would just like Crimea to be “green,” the businessman said.
