The 367th anniversary of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia was celebrated in Crimea
During a working visit to Crimea, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin laid flowers at the monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky on the occasion of the 367th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Rada
This was reported by the press service of the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The solemn event was also attended by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, and the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Coordinator of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee, Andrey Kozenko.
Denis Pushilin noted the importance of the decision of the Pereyaslav Rada for the modern history of Crimea and Donbass.
“This is both symbolic and correct, and carries with it a certain background. Both Crimea and Donbass know the price of living on their land and professing the values that are acceptable to our citizens. Crimea and Donbass are an integral part of the Russian world.
Our hearts ache for ordinary residents of Ukraine who are now forced to live in a country that is not wealthy for a number of objective reasons. We need to draw conclusions from history. Now it is already obvious to many that Ukraine should exist only within the framework of the Big Country.
Then this is a truly creative process, then this is development, then this corresponds to the interests and demands of citizens. You can rewrite history, replace values, but in general this does not bring any positive prospects,” said the head of state.
In turn, Vladimir Konstantinov emphasized that the Pereyaslav Rada has sacred significance for the residents of Russia and Ukraine, because they have always been one people.
“It is important for us to learn lessons from the past. We, of course, worry about our fraternal Ukrainian people and are confident that sooner or later historical justice will prevail and everything will return to the bosom of Mother Russia as the main unifier and guardian of the Russian world,” said the Crimean politician.
He also noted the special relationship between Crimea and Donbass, based on help and support, and declared these regions fraternal.
“We have a special relationship with Donbass because we are very close. We have been part of one state for a very long time, and we understand the problems. We have good interregional relations, we help each other. We are true neighboring and fraternal regions,” summed up Vladimir Konstantinov.
