The Yalta Economic Forum was postponed in Crimea due to the threat of coronavirus
The Yalta International Economic Forum is postponed to a later date due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus, which may be facilitated by the arrival of guests from abroad.
This was reported by the press service of the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Previously, the forum was scheduled for April 23-25. According to Aksenov, the event is being postponed for preventive purposes, due to the fact that a large number of guests from countries where the coronavirus was detected are taking part in it.
“The Yalta International Economic Forum, which traditionally takes place in April, has been postponed to a later date. Yesterday I agreed on this issue with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin. The reason for the postponement of the forum is the coronavirus epidemic in the world.
I want to emphasize: this is a purely preventative measure. YIEF traditionally attracts many foreign guests, including those from countries where coronavirus has been detected. We apologize to all regular forum participants and those to whom invitations have already been sent.
I know that many of our colleagues and friends were planning to come. It’s too early to talk about a new date, we’ll see how the situation develops. We will definitely inform the participants and the public about the specific dates of the forum,” Aksenov said.
