Simferopol, April 03 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – The sharp cold snap that occurred in Crimea last week destroyed almost the entire future harvest of stone fruit trees. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Crimea, Nikolai Polyushkin, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.

“In some regions of Crimea the temperature is from -6 to -10. As a consequence of such a sharp cold snap, industrial plantings of apricots froze to almost 98%.
Farmers, of course, tried to use a number of measures to save the harvest, but this did not help. In principle, this is no longer operational, but real data.
In addition, cherry plum and early varieties of peach were seriously damaged. Now we are studying the situation with cherries. There are no problems with apple and pear trees yet,” the minister noted.
