Crimea recommended that the European Parliament study international documents more carefully
Crimean deputies reacted to the new EU resolution, which declares the illegal annexation of Crimea to Russia and the European Parliament’s support for the integrity of Ukraine, сообщают “Izvestia”, referring to “RIA Novosti”.

“MEPs should learn the materiel. That is, once again carefully re-read the international documents that define the right of nations and peoples to self-determination. Crimeans took advantage of this right in a referendum, having the powers to do so enshrined in the constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” Zaura Smirnova, chairman of the Crimean government’s committee on interethnic relations, quotes the publication as saying.
In addition, he called Crimea’s ownership of Russia an obvious thing, which can only be ignored for political reasons. Smirnov also expressed hope that “the European Parliament will stop neglecting the principles of international law and the rights of entire peoples.”
