An employee of the prosecutor's office who came out of the mosque told reporters that “there is an inspection going on inside,” without specifying details.
There are no police cordons around the mosque.
In addition, early on Wednesday morning, six police cars and one GAZelle with machine gunners arrived in the village of Kolchugino near Simferopol. Searches began in four houses - security forces were looking for weapons, drugs and Islamist literature banned in the Russian Federation.

Also on Tuesday, in Simferopol and Belogorsk, searches were carried out in the apartment of a member of the Majlis, Eskender Bariev, and the head of the Belogorsk “regional Majlis,” Mustafa Asaba.
