The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea opened a criminal case regarding the collision of a drunken police officer with a cyclist. This was reported by the press service of Sledkom, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to investigators, the accident occurred on March 7. As a result of the collision, the 18-year-old girl died on the spot.

“On March 7, 2017, a police officer, while intoxicated, driving a car, was moving along the Azovskoye-Nizhnegorsky highway in the direction from the village of Azovskoye, Dzhankoy district, violating the speed limit, and hit an 18-year-old girl riding a bicycle in the same direction of movement. As a result of the collision, the victim suffered bodily injuries, from which she died at the scene,” the report says.
