Controversy erupts in Crimea over eating Trump's head
In Crimea, controversy erupted over a cake in the shape of the head of US President Donald Trump with the inscription “Thank you for the sanctions,” which was cut and eaten by participants in a banquet on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the state television and radio company Crimea.
The news about “eating Trump” spread across the media, including Ukrainian ones, where, as expected, they criticized “the prank of journalists - Russian collaborators.”
However, not everyone in Crimea considered the performance successful.
“They cut like real cannibal maniacs from horror films. They're getting high! Ugh!" – Deputy of the State Council of Crimea Sergei Shuvainikov, who recently left the LDPR, was indignant.
“Of course, I congratulate everyone on the past, but from a PR point of view, this move is, to put it mildly, questionable. I immediately remembered how in Kyiv, at a Maidan party, they cut a cake in the shape of a Russian baby. For his birthday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Poltorak was given a cake with a portrait of Putin. And the Minister of Transport of Ukraine Omelyan ate the cake of the destroyed Kremlin. Don’t you feel what a corpse breeze is blowing from Nezalezhnaya? But why should Crimeans copy these wild antics?” – commented Ilya Izotov, editor of the Simferopol branch of Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
