A project to combat the Ukrainian water blockade is being developed in Crimea
In Crimea, options are being explored for creating an alternative to the North Crimean Canal and providing farmers of the peninsula with their own water. State Duma deputy from the republic Mikhail Sheremet stated this at a press conference in the Parliamentary Newspaper, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, the rivers of the peninsula can be looped into some kind of canal to provide farmers with water for irrigation.
“Today we are working on projects - to loop those rivers that exist on the territory of the republic and the water that we dump into the Black Sea, which goes away by gravity... This, of course, is not drinking water, but industrial water, which will be able to irrigate our lands... In full we can provide at the expense of the resources that we have on the territory of Crimea, if they are used wisely and not dumped into the sea, then in full, 85 percent, we will be able to meet the needs that were before the closure of the North Crimean Canal,” – Sheremet said.
