The holiday season has sharply intensified in Crimea
The holiday season in Crimea has intensified with the warming and warming of the sea. The occupancy rate of resorts is growing every day, as are vacation prices.
If earlier the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea predicted a drop of a third from last year’s 6 million tourists per year, now the forecast of losses has decreased by half, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In an interview with Crimea 24, the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Vadim Volchenko said that pessimistic forecasts are gradually dissipating.
“At the start of the season there were quite serious concerns about how everything would go. Now, little by little, very cautiously, we can say that yes, the season has actually started. And as for the vehicles that we see on Crimean roads, this is just one of these indicators. We understand that now the average occupancy rate in Crimea is growing by several percent every day. Today this is already about 55%, the South Bank is traditionally loaded a little higher - about 65%.
On average, the number of cars and buses that cross the Crimean Bridge daily is about 7 thousand vehicles. At peak hours there are 10 thousand or more,” he noted.
During the first week of traffic jams, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation identified peak days - these are Sunday and Monday. You can travel relatively freely on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As Friday approaches, the queue begins to grow again and reaches its peak by Sunday.
“Therefore, we recommend arriving from Tuesday to Thursday, plus we definitely ask you to be careful with your luggage, pack it as compactly as possible so that you can quickly unload the car, go through the frame and luggage belt, load it again and drive across the bridge as quickly as possible,” - the minister noted.
The shortage of railway routes remains, despite the promises of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to do everything possible.
“Our main limiting factor is the restriction of air traffic. The entire tourist flow switched either to road transport - this is 70%, or to railway transport - this is 30%. At our request, six daily trains nevertheless appeared, primarily from Moscow, which became the main logistics hub. But, unfortunately, there is not yet a daily train, for example, from Adler or Minvod, and these are cities where air service has been maintained. This is due to the limited capacity of the railway,” Volchenko explained.
However, the flow of autotourists to Crimea is growing, and along with it, the prices for vacations are rising. Many properties use a dynamic pricing system - the greater the demand, the higher the price.
“Crimea has become the only region in Russia that has reduced the cost of holidays this holiday season. You can still use this for now. But we understand that the higher the occupancy rate, the correspondingly the cost will increase. This is due to dynamic pricing, but now prices are still lower by about 30-40% compared to last year, which was also quite difficult,” the minister concluded.
