Russian law enforcement officers began checking the poems of Aliya Kenzhaliyeva, published in the Kyrym newspaper on May 9, when residents of the peninsula celebrated Victory Day.

"The earth is wrinkled, like a spider's web

Small wrinkles cause pain

My great-grandfather lived here, there were gardens here

Now parades are a foreign country.”

There, in Kendzhalieva’s collection, there are the following phrases:

“They teach you to love war,

Don't remember the tragedy...

(...)

Happy people

Unhappy country

Painted in three colors.

***

General delight

For everyone who is sitting

Political term...

(...)

Orchestras and dances

“Hurray” and the cops...

Pa-ra-dy

Free chest bands

Stickers everywhere

Don't forget the war!

(...)

Dancing on corpses

The country is on parade."

Now, regarding the “poetess” (based on a complaint to Roskomnadzor), “a pre-investigation check is underway under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Rehabilitation of Nazism”).”

Kenzhaliyeva herself and the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Bekir Mamutov, in an interview with Ukrainian media, have already announced an attempt to prosecute for “anti-war poems.”

In her blog Kenzhalieva commented on the scandal, demanding to “leave my people alone.”

“Over the past two days, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and literary critics are especially gratifying. I don't pretend to be a strong poet, I have no ambitions in this regard. I don’t even have a book, I don’t think it’s necessary. They write: “weak poetry.” Don’t read, I’m writing for myself and my people. And my task is to write well in my native language and engage in my literature and culture. This is all so strange to me. It’s as if I submitted my poems to a literary competition. The literary competition itself came to me. Or rather, he called for a conversation. And I don't need fame, by the way. Better leave my people alone,” wrote the author of the poems.

Previously, the Center for Countering Extremism issued a warning to the Majlis TV channel ATR. The TV channel was never able to obtain registration, according to Russian law, and moved to Kyiv, from where it now broadcasts about the “horrors of the Russian occupation.”

Also in 2016, the Supreme Court of Crimea recognized the “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people” extremist organization and banned its activities in the Russian Federation.
