In Crimea, participants of the IV Interethnic Chess Tournament dedicated to the anniversary of the victory in the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878. and the Day of the Liberation of Bulgaria from the Turkish yoke, adopted an appeal in support of the actions of the Russian Armed Forces aimed at suppressing nationalism and melitarism in Ukraine.
“March 3, 2022 marks 144 years since the day when the army of the Russian Empire, with the support of the Bulgarian people’s militia, liberated Bulgaria from the 500-year Ottoman yoke. And today Russia is fulfilling a mission to liberate Ukraine from nationalism, neo-Nazism and Russophobia,” the statement says.
Participants in the Interethnic Chess Tournament were representatives of the national communities of Crimea - Bulgarian, German, Belarusian, Armenian, Greek, societies of Mordovian, Finno-Ugric, Moldavian, French cultures.
