Andrei Brezhnev, grandson of USSR Secretary General Leonid Brezhnev, died today in Crimea at the age of 57. His friend Sergei Mendeleev reported this on his social network page.
“Terrible news from Crimea - my friend and comrade Andrei Brezhnev has left,” Mendeleev wrote.
TV journalist Mikhail Tyurenkov clarified that the cause of Brezhnev’s death was a heart attack.
In recent years, Andrei Brezhnev was known as a participant in elections to local parliaments in Russian regions (in particular, in Crimea and Sevastopol) from the Communist Party of Social Justice, which the media called a project of political strategist Andrei Bogdanov to disperse the votes of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
