Five people were injured as a result of explosions at the Saki airfield in the village of Novofedorovka.

Most have cuts from fragments of windows knocked out by the blast wave, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Five victims were taken to the Saki district hospital, including one child,” said Crimean Health Minister Konstantin Skorupsky. – Four received outpatient care as part of primary surgical treatment of wounds and cuts from glass fragments. The fifth victim is on the operating table. He is undergoing surgical treatment for a non-penetrating chest wound. The condition is moderate, there is no threat to life.”

By decision of the authorities, about 30 people were evacuated. For a while they will be accommodated in boarding houses and hotels. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is monitoring the spread of the fire.

“I would like to draw special attention to the fact that there is no general evacuation in the area,” said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov. – A decision was made to remove people from houses located next to the military unit. All issues of accommodation and food will be resolved at the expense of the republic. We will inform you about what is happening."

A little later, Aksenov clarified that, unfortunately, one person died.

“In terms of the reasons for what happened, we must rely on the official commentary of the Ministry of Defense, everything is clearly stated there.

Unfortunately, one person died. I express my most sincere condolences to family and friends. All necessary assistance will be provided.

The situation has been localized and is under control. I repeat once again: there is no general evacuation in the area. Only residents of houses located in the immediate vicinity of the military airfield will be resettled.

A walk-through is currently being carried out, the extent of the damage is being determined, but the main commissions will work tomorrow. We will not leave anyone without help, we will help everyone without exception. I keep the situation under control, I am on the spot,” he said.

Meanwhile, in Kyiv, versions and forecasts regarding explosions at the airfield in Novofedorovka are multiplying. Following hints about the “precise work of HIMARS” from Odessa from the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Viktor Andrusiv, people’s deputy from European Solidarity Alexey Goncharenko predicts the next attack on the Belbek airfield in Sevastopol.

“The Belbek airfield has to get ready,” he broadcasts on his telegram channel.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk, on the contrary, does not consider the explosions in Novofedorivka to be the merit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but attributes them to the sabotage activities of the Crimean Tatars, Karaites or Krymchaks.

“Today is International Indigenous Peoples' Day. In Ukraine, these are considered Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks,” Vereshchuk wrote. – And today’s explosions in Novofedorovka are another reminder of whose Crimea belongs. Because this is Ukraine!”

Political scientist Semyon Uralov points out that the incident should bring us back to reality.

“On the one hand, in Crimea there is practically nothing that reminds us of the special operation,” the expert notes. – It’s like a normal beach season. On the other hand, now hundreds, if not thousands, will succumb to panic and will leave Crimea, which is why there will continue to be a traffic jam in Kerch. But there will be fewer people in Western Crimea.

There's no point in panicking. The new reality is that you can’t feel safe anywhere. If people run in panic from Western Crimea and in general from Crimea, it means they believe rumors more than official information. If you don’t give in to panic, then there is a margin of safety.”

“The unspoken consensus was in 2K: we don’t touch Kyiv, they don’t touch Crimea,” – reminds political scientist Marat Basharov.
