A memorial plaque was unveiled in Crimea to a member of the Berkut riot police unit who died during a special operation in Ukraine.
Police warrant officer Alexander Ivankov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A memorial plaque was installed at the school in the village of Novoselskoye, Chernomorsky district, where the deceased soldier of the Russian Guard special forces studied.
Colleagues, friends and relatives of the soldier came to honor his memory.
They paid tribute to the hero with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the marble slab from which Alexander Ivankov will henceforth greet the students of his school.
