In Crimea they are sure that the Zelensky phenomenon could only give rise to a very unhealthy society
It is impossible to imagine in any country in the world such a show as the presidential elections in Ukraine have turned into.
The head of the News Front agency, Crimean journalist Konstantin Knyrik, said this on air on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Zelensky phenomenon could only happen in a very unhealthy and desperate society. In no other country in the world could this kind of show and nonsense, like an election campaign, exist by definition. This is a fact,” said the Crimean.
“It was after he (Zelensky - ed.) began to formulate the semantic load on the foreign market that the mood began to change towards Poroshenko. Zelensky has already moved away from the idea of a referendum on NATO, which he spoke about. He said, “no, no, NATO is our course.” Zelensky has already made it clear that he supports the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the ATO against the residents of Donbass, he clearly outlined his position by addressing the Armed Forces of Ukraine and so on,” Knyrik recalled.
The ex-host of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan, journalist Yuriy Kot also called for caution in pinning peace-loving hopes on the figure of Ukrainian presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky.
“You know, today and throughout the program, and recently in Ukraine, it has been heard that with Zelensky’s arrival there is a chance that Russian-Ukrainian relations will resume... Listen, why should they resume? I have a clear opinion that in order for Russian-Ukrainian relations to resume, the Ukrainian authorities still have to earn it!
After everything that has happened in recent years, you have to deserve it! Because they staged a real genocide of the Russian population in Ukraine, and after that: “Oh, let’s be friends now, we have a new president” - it won’t work out that way, guys!” the journalist emphasized.
“It is very important that people really have a lot of confidence in the fact that Zelensky will be able to end the war, and I don’t envy him, if he doesn’t do this, that’s the worst thing. Therefore, I want to appeal to the residents of the South-East of Ukraine: guys, don’t be fascinated so as not to be disappointed later. Yes, now they have given us credit, but let him earn it later with his work,” concluded Yuri Kot.
