The head of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the referendum, Mikhail Malyshev, stated this at a press conference in Simferopol.
“They say that the Crimean Tatar population will be able to boycott participation in the referendum. I think that those Crimean Tatars who already feel like Crimeans will definitely go to vote. And those who see the decision of the top of the Majlis as fundamental, which means they most likely will not come. This is their right, it’s a shame,” said the head of the Central Election Commission.
“But I will emphasize once again - the majority, the Crimeans, who in the decision of the Supreme Council heard those moments that they, in general, did not even dream of, let’s say, two or three days ago, will certainly evaluate this document, the prospects, and they will come and participate in the referendum,” Mikhail Malyshev emphasized.
