In Crimea they again promise to put an end to Ukrainian construction barbarism
The Crimean authorities once again announced a fight against indiscriminate development - officials reported on a scheme where, after the reunification of the peninsula with Russia, developers for bribes made “backdated” documents in Ukraine in order to legitimize dubious objects.
“We are organizing that so-called chaotic development according to Ukrainian incomprehensible documents issued - we know that there are precedents when construction permits were sold in Kherson on the territory of the already Russian Crimea,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Evgeniy Kabanov, the owner of the company in Ukrainian times Interstroy itself is one of the main developers of Sevastopol.
The promise to combat illegal development has so far been met with skepticism. After 2014, officials repeatedly announced a change in the situation, but “things are still there.”
Just the day before, the Hermitage management warned that the active development of the southern coast of Crimea could result in the destruction of cultural monuments located on the peninsula.
One example of barbaric development is the Primorsky Park in Yalta, where companies that were in the past headed by current Crimean officials built their facilities.
Things are no better in Simferopol itself, ex-Minister of Transport of Crimea Anatoly Tsurkin said in his blog. He gave an example of one of these scandalous construction projects in the center of the capital of the republic.
“It’s simply funny to read the statements of the Deputy Prime Minister of the government that they will streamline the “chaotic development according to Ukrainian documents.” It seems to me that these people are further away than in a parallel reality or they are not competent at all. Real example: construction is 3 months old. Ukrainian project. The facility is located in the very center of the city, on the newly reconstructed embankment of the Salgir River, between the music school and the Franco library. There is no parking. The most interesting thing is that inside this newly constructed facility there is a heating main to the library. In general, it’s simple... Who gave permission for this? No one simply doesn’t care, but miraculously, next to the facility under construction, there is a car with the license plate of the Council of Ministers. Probably a coincidence,” comments Tsurkin.
Crimean social activist Alexander Talipov believes that the announced campaign with fake Ukrainian documents is intended to “once again bend outside developers.”
