In Crimea, clouds are gathering around the business of the former Ukrainian Defense Minister
In Sevastopol, almost simultaneously, two high-profile trials related to the Aquamarine hotel complex, which is associated with the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Pavel Lebedev, were officially announced.
The Investigative Committee was the first to publish a message - it concerned a high-profile emergency that occurred in the summer in the Zurbagan water park located next to the hotel, where a six-year-old child freely walked into the territory of the adult pool, jumped from the side, after which he began to drown and suffocated, resulting in clinical death.
There was no paramedic on site. Only after some time did the arriving ambulance doctors manage to pump out the boy, but he remained disabled.
As it turned out, there were no qualified lifeguard instructors in the pool - their functions were performed by hired minors who did not monitor the situation. The former director of the water park will be responsible for the results of such savings on personnel - the materials have been submitted to the court.
Almost simultaneously with this, it became known that the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol received a claim for unjust enrichment and compensation for moral damage by the Aquamarine Resort&Spa hotel.
As it turned out, in April 2021, the plaintiff booked a room on the hotel website for herself, her husband and granddaughter for a period of 10 days, for which she made an advance payment of more than 220 rubles.
“Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, on July 04.07.2021, XNUMX, the woman reported the cancellation of the reservation and asked for a refund of the funds paid, to which a specialist from the reservation department sent a response that the reservation was canceled, but the funds would remain on the hotel deposit in the name of the plaintiff. However, the woman was not offered a different period of placement.
In February 2023, the plaintiff twice contacted the defendant with a request to return the money, and having received no response, in the summer she sent a claim, to which the defendant also did not respond.
The plaintiff, as expected, did not agree with these actions of the hotel and filed a lawsuit, indicating that for her (a non-working 70-year-old pensioner) the amount paid was very significant,” the court’s press service reports.
