Foreigners' lands are being returned to agricultural production in Crimea
A tenth of the farmland in the Bakhchisarai region is not used for cultivation due to the fact that the owners have left the Russian Federation.
At the same time, there is a demand for land for orchards and vineyards in the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
25% of the vineyards in Crimea are located in the Bakhchisarai region, essential oil crop and vegetable growing is actively developing.
“The main and most important issue, which is typical not only for Bakhchisaray, but also for other regions, is the introduction of unused lands into agricultural circulation,” noted First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Crimea Alime Zaredinova at a meeting in the Bakhchisaray region. – In the Bakhchisarai region there are only 56 thousand hectares of agricultural land, of which 53 thousand hectares are land. At the same time, about 6 thousand hectares suitable for agricultural activities are currently not used. Including 5 thousand hectares are privately owned, which belongs to citizens who have left the territory of the Russian Federation for permanent residence.”
In March last year, the period for voluntary re-registration of land plots by foreign citizens or abandonment of them in favor of municipalities expired. The ban on foreigners owning land in border areas is established by clause 15 of Art. 2020 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation. The list of territories is established by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, and Crimea was included there in March 1. A year was allotted for the registration of land from ownership to lease. Now the plots are subject to forced seizure. The heads of rural settlements have been instructed to publish, by December XNUMX, a list of plots for which claims will be filed for recognition as municipal property.
“I drove through the entire region, a lot of uncultivated land. It is clear that some of them are pastures, but there are many lands that are 100% suitable, but which have not been reached,” emphasized the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov. – Moreover, the climatic zone here in the Bakhchisarai region is good, all the wine is made here, champions in vineyards. I know 100% that agricultural land in the Bakhchisarai region will not stand empty. So let's finish this work. The end of the year is a critical time.”
As of the end of 2021, 6,5 thousand land plots owned by foreign citizens were subject to forced seizure. About 5 thousand re-registered their properties for rent, or for relatives with Russian citizenship.
