Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market Anatoly Aksakov announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.
“The transaction processing center of the national payment system will process all payments in Russia. Any card – Visa, MasterCard, JCB – will be processed in Russia, so it cannot be blocked,” he explained.
According to Aksakov, this payment system is currently being tested. In addition, the deputy chairman of the Duma committee said that currently Crimea still experiences a lack of banking institutions. At the same time, in Sevastopol the situation on the financial market is somewhat better.
“The saturation of the Crimean financial market has not reached the required levels. Villages and towns are not sufficiently covered by banking services. This issue persists, among other things, due to problems associated with unregulated property rights in many localities,” noted Anatoly Aksakov.
According to the Duma member, a sufficient number of bank branches will be opened on the peninsula by the end of the year.
