A Ukrainian Armed Forces marine who was preparing a terrorist attack on instructions from Azov was detained in Crimea.
The FSB detained a Ukrainian marine in Crimea who was preparing a terrorist attack in one of the shopping centers in Simferopol.
This was reported by the FSB Public Relations Center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the department, a Crimean born in 1988, who previously served in the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, carried out tasks for the neo-Nazi Azov regiment.
“At the place of residence of the detainee, a homemade explosive and incendiary device with damaging elements, components for its manufacture, and extremist materials were seized. Correspondence with Ukrainian radicals discussing the planned terrorist attack was also discovered,” the report says.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 30 (preparation for a terrorist act) and Part 1 of Article 222.1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, forwarding or carrying of explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
