FSB officers in Crimea detained a militant of the terrorist battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan, whose members participated in the blockade of the peninsula by Ukraine and sabotage against residents of the republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the department's press service, the militant, born in 1991, was a security guard for the former Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, fugitive Mejlis businessman Lenur Islyamov.

“Being part of an illegal armed group on the territory of Ukraine, he participated directly in the food blockade and other illegal actions in the border areas, and also personally provided armed security for Lenur Islyamov,” the statement says.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
