Participants in pickets in support of Hizb were detained in Crimea
In Crimea, several dozen people today went out on single pickets along the peninsula’s highways. They were holding posters in their hands that read: “Crimean Tatars are not terrorists,” “Stop the lawlessness of the security forces in Crimea,” “Freedom for political prisoners,” etc.
This was reported by the Facebook group “Crimean Solidarity”. According to her, 34 picketers were detained by the police, but later released in accordance with the law.

As one of the picketers, Memet Lyumanov, said, he was detained because he did not have documents with him. The department treated him politely, but “on nerves”; at his request, they allowed him to perform namaz.
“After Crimea became ours, mass arrests of Crimean Tatars began - 2-6 people each. They give long deadlines. The courts are incompetent. After the latest arrests, I decided to go out on the picket,” Lyumanov explained his motivation.
The “latest arrests” obviously refers to the FSB operation carried out recently in Bakhchisarai. There, the activities of a cell of the international terrorist organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir al-Islami, banned in the Russian Federation, were suppressed. The cell included 6 people, criminal cases were filed against them.
