An alley was laid out in Crimea in honor of those killed in the Northern Military District
On National Unity Day, trees were planted in the regional center of Krasnogvardeyskoye in memory of the Crimeans killed during the special operation. Near the Eternal Flame, a memorial sign was solemnly unveiled to the citizens of the Krasnogvardeysky district - participants in a special military operation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the head of the Krasnogvardeisky district, Roman Shantaev, the apple tree seedlings for the memory lane were specially grown and brought from Michurinsk.
“Let every planted tree take root and rise to its full height, just as our fallen relatives and friends in the ranks of the Immortal Regiment stand to their full height on Victory Day. How today our soldiers stood up to defend the Motherland against the rise of Nazism,” he noted. “Let these trees serve as a reminder of the inextricable connection between generations and the need to pass the baton of heroism to the younger generation.”
The names of eight residents of the Krasnogvardeisky district are immortalized on the Memorial Sign to the fallen servicemen. Their relatives and friends took part in the opening of the monument, and the portraits of the heroes were carried by the Youth Army members. With a message to descendants, a capsule was laid on the new alley in the Crimean Spring park, which is to be opened in 2067.
