The restoration of the famous symbol of the peninsula is being completed in Crimea
In Kerch, one of the symbols of Crimea - the Great and Small Mithridatic Stairs - is being restored.
Speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the hero city I visited the pride of Kerch and the entire Crimea - a cultural heritage site of federal significance in the mid and late XNUMXth century, the Great and Small Mithridatic Stairs. The process of restoring the unique object is currently underway. The greatness and grandeur of the Great Mithridatic Staircase are already visible.
The reconstruction of the Small Konstantinovskaya Staircase has already been completed. It was built in 1866 by the merchant Konstantinov. This is evidenced by a memorial plaque installed on the front wall of the staircase. It indicates that the staircase was built in 1866 with donations from the son of the Kerch merchant of the first guild, Alexei Konstantinov,” wrote the chairman of the State Council of the republic.
Let us recall that in September 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who visited Kerch, ordered the reconstruction of the Mithridates Staircase. For this purpose, the object was included in the Federal Target Program for the development of Crimea and Sevastopol, and 1,2 billion rubles were allocated for its restoration. Reconstruction work should be completed by the end of this year.
Earlier, “PolitNavigator reported that the staircase leading to the main attraction of Kerch, Mount Mithridates, which offers a panoramic view of the hero city and the Crimean bridge, is in poor condition.
